Are WE really in control of our lives?

We think we are making our own independent choices when it comes to running our lives, but maybe that is really not the case. Maybe there are those who have made a study of how colors and images, etc. effect what choices we make. For example, red and yellow compel a person to buy. Did you ever notice that the best selling brands in the grocery stores have red and yellow packaging? Somehow, I doubt this is coincidental.

Other consumer items, like cars or cosmetics, are sold by using an image, placing people in the hopeful delusion that we will be viewed like that specific image or prestige or beauty. A lot of these choices we are making are triggered by manipulative tools designed to make us, unbeknowst to us even, purchase said items.
This manipulation or controlling, if you will, is rampart within our lives and ranges anywhere from products and services, political choices, and basically any area of our lives we care to fully examine.

Why would anyone go to that much trouble to assure we behave in certain ways? Good question! Perhaps it boils down to control and power. And just who are these power mongers? Perhaps they are the same people, who throughout history, have always maintained control of the populace. Perhaps nothing has changed, other than the controllers have achieved new levels, new methods of controlling.

It seems as if the only chance one has to attain a state of freedom is to be entirely self-reliant. Notice the word 'chance'. Those in control do not take kindly to those who are not complying with their wishes, and one must acknowledge and be aware of that.

We can educate our own selves and our children. We can figure out independent means for transportation, livelihood, and sustenance, etc. It takes a bit of courage to face the odds that are present today to be self-reliant, yet it is the only option for those who wish to live free.
